Has the devaluation been reverted?

Previously this page said
The free Excursionist Perk flight must be in a lower award tier or cabin than the flight before it.
Now the line has been revered to
The free Excursionist Perk flight’s cabin and award tier must be the same or lower than the flight before it.
The perk seems to be working again when booking the second (free) segment as the same class of service as the first leg.
