Consolidated "EWR-HNL (Seating, Meals, Service, etc.) Questions" Thread {Archive]
I am finally getting ready to book award flight UA14 HNL to EWR for next October and was pleasantly surprised to see they had an equipment change and now have all lie down first class seats. Do you think this is just an odd change for that date or a permanent change?
Thanks..
Thanks..

Definitely a change I'll like ^, though I did notice they changed my LAX->HNL to a 737-800 (from a lie-flat 757-200). Just requested a re-routing to the direct based on that equipment change.

Well, the conversion of the "domestic" 777s is starting in early 2013, with the intent to serve Hawaii and beyond. By next October I would expect an aircraft swap on the route, dumping the 764 for a 772.

Apparently, the swapping of the 767H to 767-400ER starts from 4/30/13 from EWR.
I am disappointed too. I have a EWR-HNL in later Jan'13

Just wondering, I just flew on one of the 4 Hawai'i configuration 764s you list on your page last week from SFO to HNL and it did not yet have E+, though I was fortunatly able to get an aisle seat in the mini-cabin. You don't list the no E+ in red, so is UA not going to add E+ to these four aircraft? That's pretty lame if they won't, it was a really nice plane but the E- leg room was pretty bad.

That's good to hear, though based on the seat maps for the 39/203 does that mean that they will actually move the forward galleys on the 4 76Hs and do away with the mini-cabin? I like the seperate space, almost feels like more of an exclusive Premium E cabin, and it would be even better with E+!

Sorry for being a newbie at this but what you are saying is even though right now for oct 2013 they are showing a 767-400ER with lie flat FC seats, you think they will switch that aircraft to a pmua777(which is what?) what kind of first class seats is that? Would I be better off to be on the safe side just booking HNL to IAH to EWR?
Thanks.
Thanks.

It will be basically the legacy p.s. C seat.
It'll likely be the same config at that point. The company is building the subfleet (9 of them) out over the coming months with the intent of all the long-haul or heavy lifting being on the 77As.
