Were you GS last year? Have there been any GS who didn't get the challenge?

No, I wasn't, but neither was the other member.

Asking because, unless I've missed anything (which is entirely possible):

1) all (?) GS who weren't invited got the challenge
2) no 1K got a challenge

In 2023, I made Lifetime 1K in January. I had been GS for about 8 years prior to that. I was not invited to GS for 2023, based on 2022 flying. In 2023, my stats were 24,094 PQP and 48 PQF. Today, I received the challenge for GS that others have been receiving. I do not expect to meet the challenge.

Pure guess here but I suspect RAPUAFlyer got the challenge because they were GS through January 31, 2023. UA likely wrote the GS challenge ($18K in 120 day period) for anybody who held GS *at any point* in 2023 which would have included anybody who held it in January 2023. Again, just a guess. Because so far we have not see any reports of 1Ks being offered this challenge (minus the one I quoted because he was GS in January 2023).

He also didn't state if he completed the challenge. As a datapoint, I was also offered the challenge in January 2023, completed it in February....did another ~13k PQM after that...didn't get invited back...but did get a 2024 challenge. So it's entirely "possible" to "qualify" two years in a row on challenges.

Wow. Tracker and challenge thing disappeared on my account. Hmm. Anyone else experience that?

Not all GS are eligible for the challenge. I was GS last year (via PassPlus; I spent over $50k on United flights in 2023), called in for a challenge, and was rejected. Unfortunately it seems like if you're an individual PP subscriber you might be "disqualified" from GS, much like the other corporate discount people.

With over $60k PQP on United metal in 2023 ($68k total), I did not make the cut. 1K since 2018. Just feels like a jab after seeing 1Ks in the spreadsheet get invited with lower spend. I know there are many GS/1K with more spend than me in a worse boat than me.

There is zero incentive to spend anything beyond 1K for 2024 with United.

I think the terms say the challenge is for former gsers, so no.

Same here. This time I screenshotted it.

BTW, passing through EWR Saturday. 10-noonish, in case you or Mr. Pillows are going through. ;-)

I'm still here in Tokyo - heading back on the 24th. Travel safe!

What was your PQF and/or CPM? It looks like CPM (with a minimum spend) seems to be important vs absolute amount spent.
