Missconnection on two separate tickets
So today I had FLL - EWR bought with United and than EWR - FRA also on united but ticket using aircanada miles. Due to FLL closure I am not able to get a confirmed seat to get to EWR on time. Unfortunatley united agents can't help as they can't touch aircanada ticket even if it is for UA metal.

Looks like a special flight was added today at 6pm, who knows if it will actually go since the runway is still completely submerged.
could somebody educate me on the UA flights in the 3000’s like this one… these are added in the event of extreme IRROP’s?

Just bad luck with WX. When does fll get 2 feet of rain? Just bad luck. Get the award ticket CXL. Maybe CXL the fll. Find another mileage award to get to fra or postpone the trip. Normally this approach of 2 separate tickets will work.

even if operations start churning back online at 5am tomorrow , it will be a slow churn with crews out of place, and airport employees still dealing with flooded cars/homes and getting to FLL…
things wont suddenly start running operationally perfect like a flip of a switch tomorrow morning.
