AUS-LAX: Breakfast

Well, as noted elsewhere in this forum, our pre-ordering was for naught.

Selected "egg white bites" since it was that or the waffles.

Here's what showed up:

Eggs and the shashuka sauce were ok. Potatoes were raw. Fruit was fruity.

So much for using up one's PPs for an upgrade. And we skipped much of anything in the AUS UC to eat onboard. Bad move.

There are some LCC that forbid you from bringing food and drinks onboard so you must buy from the BOB menu.

SFO-ORD breakfast

breakfast from SFO-ORD. Pre-order was Crepes, Waffle, Egg Frittata, egg shakushuka, and yogurt with granola.

On board was only shakushka or crepes though FA did get one person something from the BOB menu for free because they didnt want either option. Pre-order crepes given. Pretty good but quite sweet.

PDB of water or orange juice given. Got a second croissant as well.

Bistro menu is free for those seated upfront. Did you get the sense it was not?

For me honestly, the bistro menu is better than sugar filled breakfast or sodium filled lunch menu.

Can confirm that we got no food other than snack boxes, and a measly $15 voucher!

West coast to DEN, 4pm departure

I'm not sure this is the single worst meal I've ever had in a premium cabin, but I can't remember a worse one. It looks a lot better than it tasted. I guess they wanted to simulate wok hai, so they throw some weird artificial burned flavor in there? But also it just tasted like a microwaved $3 supermarket frozen entree -- veg and rice texture were all wrong. I was super busy all day so decided to count on eating on the plane, I figured if the food was bad I could just eat nuts. Why were there no nuts? There were nuts on this flight in May, I ate three ramekins that day. I know I should be happy just to have gotten to destination given the current meltdown -- the line for CS at Denver had to leave spots for gate access all the way down B. Service was good (other than the lack of nuts). Salad was good and cookie was tasty.

I have yet to have a post-pandemic cookie, but the circumference of that one looks Pie-in-the-Sky-esque, i.e., vastly smaller than the pre-pandemic heated cookie of Smisek days. Is it as small as it looks in this photo or is it a bad angle (and/or a one-off)?

CLE-MCO
June 26
9:15 am departure
737 MAX (new plane with no IFE in F? I've been on another UA MAX variant with awesome IFE )

PDB offered a tray of "champagne" (no water or OJ or mimosas on the tray)
Preordered the shashuka egg bites.
FA seemed well organized, checking the mobile device and acknowledging the preorders.
"crossaint" not warmed - that bready taseless thing needs to go.
Strawberry yogurt - meh.
The main dish wasn't bad - I liked that the sauce was a bit spicy.
Fruit was fruity, as DELee observed.
Bloody Mary served with 2 minis
Good crew, no complaints about the service on this 1h55m flight.

Glad you fruit was fruity as well.
Hopefully your potatoes were cooked at least.
