Had a morning flight yesterday. Went with the fritata instead of the waffle. Potatoes and spinach was fine. There were two slivers of a sausage. The egg was dried out and waaaay overcooked. Just had a bad texture and was just gross. Fruit salad was fresh. A breakfast croissant without Nutella is strange (or at least give me a Hershey bar for it.)

Catering has not been a strong suit of united. But man, things seem to be getting worse. I would like continental's kitchen back. Please and thank you.

01/10/23: UA 1363 DEN-LAX Dinner/Snack

All the Purser offered was the burger - sadly with the incredibly inedible bowl of awful stuff:

Tried one miniscule bite of the bowl thing - and promptly requested a can of Pringles which was eventually brought from the back. I also covered up the bowl thing:

The grain bowl is exactly what they serve (maybe used to serve) in Y, just a bigger portion of it, I laughed when I got it earlier this week.

Was the burger a pre-order or actually one of the two "regular" options?

It was not pre-order and the only item offered to me (as a 1K sitting in 4F).

Very interesting. I'll be on the that same flight soon and will see if I get the same thing (if the CPU comes through).

Just a note that the DEN-LAX flight was mid-evening departure (2020 MST). Haven't been keeping track of daily traffic times between the two hubs if there are many dinner flights.

And, yeah, I played the CPU game and won (was #1 on the U/G list as a 1K w/no PPs applied).

The earlier 777 before would be my obvious choice, but it is on the HD config which means no upgrade compared to the 753 on the late flight. Fingers crossed!

I want to try the pre-order spicy Mexican frittata thing on the way out, but I'd be pretty stupid to buy up to a Z fare even for $199 just for a meal. I'm going to hope the upgrades clear in both directions.

Back to this thread - anyone else tried the green chili frittata?

For tomorrow the options seem oddly limited. Especially outbound from a hub. I went with the burger.

Oh, forgot to add the pre-meal drinks but no nuts (nor pretzels):

01/10 IAD-DEN: Old Fashioned (blurry but good)

01/10 DEN-LAX: Wanted a Coke to go with the burger

01/08 EWR-IAD: Old Fashioned - no meal, just drinks

Makes for a decent breakfast, although presentation can be hit or miss.

I believe it's pictured in post 25:

That's actually a different one - the green chile one I've only seen on the pre-order menu. There was one example in last year's thread, but it looked absolutely horrible.

Good to see all the same people ive been seeing for so many years still here and happy new years to everyone!

I saw Brian Kelly's IG story that UA very upper management is apparently aware of the poor food quality and is working on a revamped menu. MatthewLAX is this valid and/or what does this look like as far as what changes we could see, if any.

My first time pre-ordering the charcuterie plate. Not terrible considering I had already eaten dinner on an earlier connecting flight:

Was your pie in the sky actually chocolate chip or another flavor?
