2023 Let’s Eat - Polaris business

UA40
EWR - FCO
01/01/23

New menu to me - I’ll use the word - interesting…. Sorry I can’t take one for the team for dinner - Will report on breakfast if we wake up and need to choke down some UA food…

My Japanese wife always gets a kick out of “Sobo” noodles….

Here are the breakfast options - the “egg” was much better than the dry pancake…

My wife and I both thought the "Denver flat-iron steak" we got 12/30 out of EWR-FRA tasted much more like a mediocre short rib, perhaps it was a special preview tasting seeing this now.

Flying this exact flight in a few weeks. Does menu card say if it changes over in Feb? Assume not. Will instead have to eat up in EWR Polaris lounge beforehand ... NOT.

Agree. December's flat iron was the best beef entree United has served in J post-COVID. Probably had it 5 times last month, and it was good each time.

Unlikely to change in a few weeks - we didn’t eat in the PL as quality is so inconsistent - can recommend Classified though….

Given United’s track record, the menu will change in February of 2024

SYD-IAH Jan 2, 2023

I only ate the main meal. My wife escaped everything. 😂

Menu for SYD-IAH

Salad and appetizer.

Main dish, more potato than fish!

Was at right temperature.

Huh, they've revived the EUR-USA menu from late summer last year. Although looks like no more green goddess on the bottom of the salad.

I like that fish, even if it is pretty small.

There actually was green stuff under the salad, I think it was pesto. Of course I did not find it until I got to the bottom.

Two dressings!

Finding the green paste at the end seems to be a common experience. I guess my peculiar habit of poking around before eating helps me with that one.

I think I've finally crossed the frustration phase with United catering and now view it as a comedic experience. I mean, why do they find it so hard to deal with dressing on a salad?
