Identifying true Polaris aircraft vs old UA business

I will be flying SFO-FRA (or MUC), trying to identify which aircraft have "real" polaris vs the old united business. Options are: 777-200; A350-900; 777-300ER; 747-8; A350-900. Is 1-2-1 seating the best way to tell? Any tips appreciated.

Part of this is easy. All of United's 77W (777-300ER) are Polaris and United does not operate any A350 or 747 aircraft. So you only have to work for 777-200.

When are you flying? If after this month, then all UA long-haul aircraft except the 767-400 will have real Polaris (one final 787-9 should be going in for retrofit toward the end of the month, but that's it for unretrofitted aircraft except the 767-400).

The 747-8 and A350-900 are LH aircraft. J on those aircraft are in a 2-2-2 configuration.

Thank you, flying in December.

That's helpful, thank you.

The A350s and 747s are not flown by UA -- and therefore would not have Polaris, a UA product. But have a version of lie-flat seat. They may show as UA codeshares but pay attention to the the "operating" airline -- may be LH or LX or .....

All aircraft UA (777-300 or 777-200 or 787-9) uses from SFO to FRA/MUC/ZRH/LHR/ ....are Polaris seat equipped

All UA wide bodies except the 772HD, 767-400 (764) and 1 or 2 787-9 (789) are Polaris equipment. The few 789s should be converted soon and 764s are next inline.
The 772HD are mostly domestic usage and no plans have been announced for them. There is also 757-200 (752) which are a narrowbody that have 1st generation lie-flat.

And in December substitutions will likely be a less rampant than they were for the summer .....

As others have pointed out, it's really almost a non-issue now since very few planes have yet to be retrofitted, but you can tell instantly by looking at the plane's seatmap, whether it is true Polaris, as the graphic UA uses for Polaris is different than what is used for the previous business class configuration. Also, only the new Polaris will have the 1-2-1 configuration.
In the first screen shot is the non-Polaris configuration. The second one is true Polaris. You can see the seats look different and a different color is used as well.

The only birds without True Polaris are 787-9, 767-400 and a few 777-200 HD for domestic use only

So, if you aren't flying on a 787-9 it is true Polaris
If it is a 787-9 and they are selling premium economy on that route (fare class O,A,R) then it is Polarized - if they are not selling PE, then old 2/2/2 - but they can swap back and forth between Polaris if operational needs dictate.

EDIT: There is only 1 787=9 left to convert (second to last went to conversion yesterday) and it will go to conversion in Mid Nov at the latest - so by the time December rolls around as long as you aren't on a 767-400, you will have true Polaris
