Short Update: I made it to 1k on Monday.
Another question: it happens quite often that I fly to, e.g., Europe, and my family is flying a couple of days later. However, we take the same flight back, but the booking is on two different tickets, but I booked for them and I can see their flights in my account.
Is there a way to book the complementary economy plus for them?

it is indeed very easy right now to earn 1K flying intercontinental business class. Enjoy! Call and they will assign the seats you need
