Hey so can anyone confirm wether or not N55057, which just came back from HKG, does indeed have the new polaris retrofit?

Just looked at booking UA978 IAD-EDI at 10:35 PM today 9/4. Seat map does not show any PE, just Polaris (2-1-2) and Economy Plus.

789 N38955 that has been sitting at EWR took off for CPT today returning Monday: 1123/Sept 5
FlightAware currently shows it was scheduled EWR-ORD 2787/Sept 5 and ORD-GUM 2788/Sept 6; both now show cancelled.

Is N38955 going to be heading in to XMN for Polaris refit? Do the cancelled flights tip their hand and we can expect those rescheduled in a day or two?

Hi everyone I'm currently booked DCA-YYZ-YVR-SYD with AC in J for early November. It's a Latitude fare so it's fully refundable. I see that UA has DCA-IAH-SYD for the same price. I'm thinking of changing to the United flight (one less stop and don't have to wear a mask) but I don't know if IAH-SYD has the new Polaris seat. Does anyone know if there is a way to check, or is it too early to tell? Will all the 789 Polaris conversions have been done by then? Thanks for any help.

No way to tell, Nostradamus. Based on latest info, 39/42 789s will be converted/in conversion as of tomorrow, so the odds are good (but the goods are odd, as they say at Rice U). Good luck, but them's good betting odds...

There are only two non-Polaris 789s left in service. Given the amount of time it takes for retrofitting, assuming United has two at a time to finish out the 789 modifications, there will either be either one or possibly zero non-Polaris 789s left in early November. If you can, I would switch understanding it is extremely unlikely of flying on the sole non-Polaris 789, that is if there still any left flying. Given IAH-SYD is one of the longest 789 flights in the system, I would assume UA would probably try to schedule of one newest 789s that has the latest software that enables that extra lift for a flight that length.

There have been a lot of 772s (P&W powered domestic and intl configured), 789s, and 763s and 764s transiting through GUM the last two weeks. Is UA catching up on maintenance checks in XMN? In addition to the Polaris Mods for the 789?
