Need *70* PQPs for 1K, maybe not?

Title says it all. I'm just 70 points short of PQPs to get 1K this year. Is there any way to get an amount this small without trying to find a short, cheap roundtrip to fly?

It depends. Are you at 36 PQF and 13,430 PQP (or at 14,930 PQP) or short for FttF?

I'm at 14,930 PQP. And I'll be honest, I'm quite confused by the FttF promo and what (if anything) I'll be getting in December from that.

  1. Book a short flight (ie. ORD-MKE)
  2. Buy PQP (Premier Accelerator)
  3. Cancel flight

That works? I understand you wouldn't get the money back for the Accelerator, but as long as you do it w/in 24 hours you'd get the money back for the flight, right?

Cool. But as I'm reading about Fly to the Finish and Breakout Bonus, I *think* I'm going to get 1,500 bonus PQPs in December.

1) I was Platinum and more than 1,000 PQPs away from requalifying, so that put me in FttF *then*
2) I earned more than 2,000 PQPs on a trip, which should have re-qual'd me for Platinum via FttF *but*
3) I subsequently earned enough more PQPs that I would have gotten Platinum naturally, *therefore*
4) I now am eligible for the BB bonus points of 1,000+250+250 for three flights on separate PNRs I've taken in the promo period.

Does that all sound right? This promo is actually pretty nice, but man is the fine print overcomplicated.

That would be my understanding of it as well. I would wait until December to see if you get the bonus PQP, and if not then there is still time to go the Accelerator route.
