Star Alliance upgrade using Miles: baggage allowance?
Hi everyone,
I've never done it before, and couldn't find good information: If I buy a ticket on LX stock in an upgradeable booking class (Y/B/M/U), and upgrade it using MileagePlus miles, does it get reticketed on UA stock in I? Do I get business class baggage allowance, or original LX economy booking class?

While there are no mentions in the T&C, I'm fairly certain that it won't get re-ticketed as a 016 stock.
Once you're upgraded you should get the baggage allowance as per the new LX class. Or you can just use your *A gold extra baggage allowance (since you're talking about YBMU, I'm assuming it won't be a light fare).

Well, that's the thing, *some* upgrades on LH Group upgrade into I booking class, but retain baggage allowance of the original booking class, like upgrades at check-in, gate, or even myOffer bids. But an award ticket booked in I gives full Business class allowance. I need the weight, rather than the number of bags, that's why I'm interested in that detail
