Pay Cash/ Pay in Person / Ticket office option gone?

I think as recently as late 2019/early 2020, I've seen the "pay in person" option be available on an itinerary with NH segments. The issue is that NH will cancel their segment if not ticketed with 24 hours, so the fare won't actually be held all the way until midnight the next day. I haven't had the occasion to check in the last few months, unfortunately.

Holding a ticket for someone else to purchase?
I previously posted about difficulties in traveling from DEN-ORD on Easter (4/4).
I have found a seat that works for me - but since these tickets are purchased thru work's travel office and they are closed over the weekend, I dont want to lose the opportunity for this ticket.... can I reserve/hold/etc under my name and have work purchase come Monday?

Select "pay in person" and then have some call with the appropriate card information. If you travel people will do this is another issues as they will not be able to get credit for the purchase.

Pay Cash/ Pay in Person / Ticket office option gone?
When I have difficulty applying Future Flight Credits or ETCs, my fallback has been to choose the "Other forms of Payment">"Pay with Cash" option on the payment screen. This holds the reservation for 24 hours. I then call an agent and have them apply the FFC/ETC. Unfortunately, this option seems to have disappeared in the last week.
Does anyone know a workaround?

This has been reported previously in the past but has returned(as recent as March 2021)
Can no longer choose online to pay at airport? (still can)
Hopefully just any temp issue.

There are times when the pay later option is not available.
If your itinerary is not all UA or UA express, this option will not appear.
I discovered this booking international itineraries.

Perhaps what FTers were using this for was the principal or only reason it was being used? And the original purpose became a non-issue?
If there was a concern with the alternative uses, wonder what that might have been?
