Apparently both Chase and UA want you to keep spending....

can anyone comment on whether if one is somehow NOT eligible for this bonus, will it indicate that upon signing up, or will it fail later on in the process? #11KGF has a prior United MP Chase card, but didn't receive this card automatically and I'm wondering if sign-up and bonus is eligible.?

Two 5,000-mile anniversary award flight credits.
Starting with your first anniversary, you'll automatically get 5,000 miles back after you take a United award flight booked with your miles - up to 2 times every anniversary year.
I'm trying to interpret this. Anniversary is defined as 12-months AFTER card open date, and every 12 months thereafter.

I opened this card 2 months ago. In Dec 2021 (8 months after opening card) I will fly 2 separately ticketed award flights. Will I get 5000 miles back after flying these?

or...

Is this benefit essentially useless until the account has been open for 12 months, at which point I'll get the 2 x 5000 mile credits "for future application" (in other words they cant be applied toward flights taken before the 12 month anniversary, such as those flights I'm taking, mentioned above.?)

Thanks. I guess it was clear to me after reading it a dozen times. I wonder why this benefit isn't activated until after a year.

If I had to guess, it's because they already have a huge sign-up bonus on this card, and they were trying to provide an incentive for people not to cancel when the annual fee comes due. I can't see how 10K extra miles would break the bank one way or the other, but... 🤷‍♂️

Any data points on United Quest card $125 credit working for TravelBank or gift cards?

I charged an Econ Plus upgrade, that automatically credited.

EDIT: Looks like g/c are not sold anymore.

EDIT2: At a bare minimum I guess I could always just buy an airline tkt and cancel it, then it will be good for another year.

I was able to buy two $50 travel bank purchases and it was reimbursed. The other $25 partially covered an additional payment on a Future Flight Credit ticket. There does not seem to be a $25 travel bank purchase amount.

So, clearly not after a year, but you made two separate purchases for $50, and both were re-imbursed? Nice.

Correct. Not after a year and both were reimbursed.

5 days ago I product changed from Explorer to Quest. By next day the website was updated showing the same credit card number as Quest card.
Immediately paid $60 in taxes for an award ticket, and when it posted there was a credit for the exact amount I paid listed as "UNITED CREDIT $125/YEAR"
So a credit posted before the new annual fee.

Why would you do that? Doesn't that make you ineligible for the 100,000 mile bonus?

Does Quest card for same temporary bonus as Explorer card?

The Explorer card currently has a bonus offer for 6% on United purchases and 5% on Gas and other travel. Does the Quest card qualify for the same temporary bonus?

No. Was it a targeted bonus? If so then no, I haven't seen anything public, so if you got an email about it the email should say something like "this offer is only valid for card ending in 1234"
