My guess is international Polaris Lounges are years away from becoming a reality, if ever. Both HKG and NRT will play lesser roles in the network going forward (for dramatically different reasons) and it's unclear exactly how the concept would best fit the real estate at LHR. For LHR, I always thought the long-term plan might be to convert the downstairs United Club into a Polaris Lounge, and "densify" the GFL into a United Club. The GFL is definitely too small to handle all of UA's J cabin traffic if converted to a PL, and, pre-pandemic access rules allow departing *A J pax into the PL at the departure airport. The United Club is already (IMO) the best option for departing J pax at LHR, as I am underwhelmed by the MLL or SKL by comparison. Presumably it could be overrun by *A J pax "in the know." We shall see...

The main NRT club was one floor up from the terminal level. There was an upstairs level which was originally a first class lounge, and later was for Global Services travelers. It was quieter and had upgraded food.

IAH E is also a multilevel lounge, with Polaris all the way upstairs.

You rode an elevator to the UC/GFL lounges at LHR. Both are on the same floor.

I just recall that you turned left at the entrance to go to the GFL at LHR, and right to the UC. The GFL seated dining was great. But even the LHR UC was something much better than a domestic lounge. I kind of wonder whether anyone other than UA flyers would use it much, though. It was a long walk from the A gates (where I would often be connecting, and the LH lounges are) to the B gates.
