ORD-YNG flight track

UA 2561 ORD-YNG flight aware shows flight flew near Cincinnati then up to YNG. Thats interesting as this is a ferry flight to take the 49ers to Cincinnati from Youngstown. Maybe bad weather on the direct route but radar looked pretty clear.

I came from EWR to ORD this morning a little earlier. We did an end run that basically ran us over STL which is way out of the way. The pilot said because of weather the direct routes were closed. For a visual look at https://flightaware.com/live/flight/...225Z/KIAD/KORD

Question where is YNG??

What is YNG? Did you mean CVG??
If so, I have two questions:
1. how so you make 2 errors in a 3-letter code?
2. why does it matter? Commercial airport divert all the time. What is the importance of this one that it deserves its own thread?
NB As you may be aware, all CA airport codes begin with the letter Y.

YNG is Youngstown, Ohio. I found that out by using Google.

The flight didn't divert, it just took a round-about route that took it over CVG....OP also noted that plane is intended to fly YNG-CVG next day, probably just coincidence.

Here's the flight path:

They didn't, you've gone off on the wrong airport.
