No Baggage Allowance on UA Business Award tickets on Turkish
Hi, Not sure if i should post here or in the Turkish Airlines Forum. I purchased two award tickets for Turkish Airlines in J using UA miles for my parents. When they checked in yesterday, they were told they have no baggage allowance. The gate agent somehow put my UA mileageplus number (I'm platinum) in my mom's boarding pass and checked in their bags. Her boarding pass now shows Star Alliance Gold. Is this an oversight on UA/Turkish part? or do we really have to pay for luggage for award tickets? I've been using my UA miles for award tickets every year for the last 4-5 years, this is the first time I came across this.

Where did you check-in? UA counter (did you have a connecting UA flight) or TK?
Your parents should have received the TK bussiness class allowance but not elite benefits.

something in this story needs more details. Of course there is a checked bag allowance sans Elite benefits when flying premium cabin and I have not heard that this has ever caused an issue w/ TK.Where and how was that statement made? Were they asked to pay? How much? If they were asked to pay then TK as the operating carrier needs to refund this.
