That's not my experience. I've landed on 9L/27R three times in a row in the past month and it was max 15 minutes from touching down to the gate.

Despite what you were told, I'd be surprised if the wheelchair is ready when you deplane. Expect a 5 to 10 minute wait, depending on the ground crew. If your daughter can't stand, you'll likely have to wait onboard until everyone else is off before you get off. Don't expect any useful help from the gate agents or flight attendants -- you will be on your own. It will come down to the gates used and exactly what time in inbound flight gets to its gate.

Again, you might make it, but given that you'll be stuck at ORD for 8 hours if you don't, I would try to change to different flights with a longer connection time.
What is likely to help the OP in this case is that the gate agents will only check excess bags on an E175 to final destination... not to the arriving Jetway. At least I'm pretty sure about this. If so, a wheelchair and strollers will be the only things which are brought up onto the Jetway at ORD.

Pretty sure I have seen bags valet (green) tagged from an E175. Not very many, as the bins are pretty good...

United will valet-check bags on the E175. American and Delta will not.

The guys.

So I called the accessibility number and they told me they will have someone waiting for us at the jetway to escort us to our flight and we don't miss it. Again this is just Thier words. I'm hoping thats the case.

Thanks everyone for the advise

Yes, confirmed as of a flight on Thursday. United valet-checked (green tags) rollerboards that didn't fit on the E175 flight...ran out of room in the overheads.

I've done a long transfer at ORD by wheelchair a couple times. If you can walk off the plane to a wheelchair in the jetbridge, it's just as fast as walking. Only issue is if you need a wheelchair all the way to your seat, in that case you probably need an extra 10 minutes to get off the plane as they let the ambulatory pax off first. Also I think the gate agent on your departing flight is more likely to wait for a wheelchair than for a runner.

Bottom line, 50 minutes is tight if your incoming is delayed, but being in a wheelchair won't make it any tighter.
