If I cancel a booking, keep the credit and re-book with a change fee, will I get a new confirmation number? and will this make my booking eligible? will I also get a new ticket number? I am guessing the T&C mention a trip to be a unique confirmation number

I think I get the crown for lousiest promotion so far.

2700 miles.

I have never been able to take advantage of any of these United offers since I tend to purchase my flights in advance. I had an easier time when USAirways had these offers as it was retroactive and flights already purchased did count.

Yes, these MilePlay offers are only of use to those who book one month out. Should I hold off on future bookings and gamble that the next MilePlay will be a valuable offer for me?

No body outside of United staff knows. In previous threads / games, there was no discernible pattern discovered.
