UA (C5) 4933 Runway Excursion at PQI on 4 March 2019

UA 4933, operated by Commutair, suffered a runway excursion followed by a gear collapse inbound to PQI this morning. All souls aboard appear to be relatively unharmed. The Flightaware track of the flight shows what may be a missed approach preceding the runway excursion. Photo of the aircraft below:

Ouch... that's a pretty rough one! I suspect this will be a bit more significant (i.e., higher-speed runway excursion) than a relatively basic missed turnoff.

So, you're saying the landing gear is NOT supposed to retract from the turbofan then?

Yikes.
Glad everyone is safe.

Glad everyone is ok! It's interesting that the FR24 tracking is accurate enough to show where they went off the runway (link below)!

The displayed track shows it wasn't close to the airport / runaway, so my guess it is not that accurate

WOW- based on the pic alone this could have been a lot worse (i.e. that gear going into a running engine?)

As far as the overlay onto the map, you are correct. I was referring the to jog right where the plan ended it's skid. That is accurate.

Just in the wrong place on the map. Sort of hard to tell which is correct. Also due to the sampling rate, there is just one data point and unknown how much after the previous data point the excursion started.

I think we can say the track shows an excursion occurred, anthing else is incomplete.

Article on the story from a local news source.

Plane skids off runway, closing airport in Presque Isle

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — A United Airlines flight from Newark to Presque Isle landed roughly on its second approach and then slid off the runway Monday as passengers screamed and some seat parts popped off, according to one occupant.

Of the 28 passengers and four crew members on board, four passengers and the pilot were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, according to Kim Smith, Presque Isle public information officer.
I've had a few aborted landings, they're no fun. But to add in the snow we had today, this had to have been terrifying.

Interesting way the FLIFO is listed for this flight-United never actually completes the segment out, just asking any agent looking at this flight to reference GG EME (which I assume is the reference page for emergencies).
