When a POS kindly asks if she can occupy the seat next to you

not seeking advice. Not venting. Not seeking empathy even. Just sharing a travel story.

On a CR 700 in Y. Full plane according to the app. I’m in 8D. I am early to board and seat next to me not yet occupied. There is a passenger of size in 7c. She kindly asks if I would mind if she sits next to me because the armrest in 7c juts into her. (7c is bulkhead with tray table in armrest).

I have no claim to 8c, and I doubt the rightful owner of 8c will care.

My pos companion is very sweet. It’s a short enough flight. But it will be cramped!

I'd just swap and take 7C myself. Win-win.

Short flight = Win
Blessed to Be Thinner and Healthier = Win

Wish we were all a bit more compassionate (including myself)

Except for the passenger assigned 8C. But it's FT, so they're out of luck.

I'm typically sympathetic to POS. The one time I felt frustration towards a POS was when I sat in exit row window, and clearly the woman was POS, sat in middle seat, and proceeded to bring out a seat belt extender. She then proceeded to proactively hide the extender under some clothes so when the FA was giving us the briefing, the FA couldn't see it. I considered making a note of it to the FA but figured it was not worth aggravating someone over it.

You should have reported it. That's a safety hazard and a direct violation of rules. Imagine if there was a fire and the plane needed to be evacuated. Every second counts.

Not to mention that extenders are not allowed in the exit row as they are a tripping/snagging hazard.
