Booking Avianca Business Class on United.com
Hi folks,
(Not sure if this is the right forum, but since I'm trying to use United.com I'm hopeful it is)
I am looking to book a flight SFO - CTG (with layover in LAX and BOG). When I search on Google Flights, there are business class flights (fare class A) for $675. ITA Matrix, Priceline, and others have it at the same price, and they all agree that it's business class the whole way through.
But when I click over to United.com, the same price shows up, and the purchase page says it's booking class A, but United says it's economy class.
But then on this page:
https://www.united.com/cms/en-us/mar...spx?itemid=436
United says that Avianca A class tickets are discounted business class.
I don't really want to pay the fare if it's going to end up being economy. Is there a way to ensure that I'm getting business class the whole way through? I've tried going over to Avianca, but that site seems to be very limited in the number of flights that appear. I haven't been able to find the flight I'm looking for at any price on that site.
Thanks for any suggestions you have!

To be certain what you're buying, read the fare rules, as they govern what you'll actually get.
Another option: because UA offers 24-hour cancellation on all flights purchased on United.com, you can buy it, then call Avianca and ask (and get a seating assignment too). If it turns out to be economy, call United and cancel for a full refund.

That being said, if the price and booking codes match what you see on Matrix and/or Avianca, 99% it will be in Business. Displaying a cabin name is the localization that often fails on the United end; the booking code is fine.

I've done this and it has displayed as Economy on the UA site as a mistake. It was booked as Business on Avianca. I could check on the site easily a few mins after booking.
