United employees suport coworker that lost a daughter - Parklnad

Florida shooting victim funeral attended by airline workers - Business Insider

There is a moving photo of all the uniformed United and other airline workers at the services for a girl who was murdered at the school in Florida. The ripples from this tragedy extend so far.

I thank the airlines workers who went the extra mile to show their support to the family in this extremely difficult time.

I'm seldom speechless and don't tear up easily, but I just experienced both. How amazingly wonderful and supportive.

A very moving display of support in a horrible and senseless situation.

I'm not sure if similar happened this time but United (and the CO side prior to the merger) has been known to operate extra sections or up-gauge aircraft in similar scenarios to help their staff get to similar memorials in the past. They rarely get a lot of press, but they are an important thing that the company does to help its employees.
wrp96 and notquiteaff like this.

Ouch, when posts on internet said pilot's daughter and the pilots that came to the funeral, just didn't think UA with Parkland being in Florida.

No matter which airline, or which work, wonderful salute after a senseless crime.

Employees from UA, B6, and AA were there... Non-revving into the area was pretty senior that day and the night before, I'd like to think more people would've made it had there been seats.

hopefully these pictures have less jpg artifacts:

Lots of United employees live in the area. Other UA families have children enrolled at the school, too. A touching tribute appropriate for such a heartbreaking situation.

A scholarship fund is being set up in Gina Montalto's name: https://www.gofundme.com/ginamontalto
