Requested D->F (ON) with a GPU upon purchase and was waitlisted; flight sat at F6 A6 ON0 for a month
About a month before flight date, it went to F6 A6 ON5
Called in and was cleared manually

No, you should get the GPU back. But MEL-LAX is much, much more likely to clear.
