Disregard, it has just now shown up as a 787-9, phew, but I lost my preferred seat in the shuffle which I selected at the time of purchase, I presume I am SOL for getting that back again.
Was this a normal website issue ?
I wrote this (below) earlier before when the website reverted and said the ship was coming from KIX and showed a 787-8 seat map, curiously the SYD-LAX for Mon Nov 20 lists a 787-9 but shows a 787-8 seat map.
Saturday Night 863 SFO-SYD has been down gauged from a 787-9 to a 787-8 this means 12 less J seats of which I was previously confirmed and remain confirmed but currently have no seat assigned.
Do I hope for a mis-connect or a no show?
Downgrade compensation should be $1500 + refund of u/g instruments and/or co-pay cash.
Is the $1500 or in the form of cash or a United voucher ?
I am looking at the possibility of connecting through LAX if seats are available but will I get F domestic seats if R is not open on my connecting flight presuming of course they will force an R seat on the LAX-SYD segment since it is showing J available but not R.
