The sad thing is, they'll probably get something because it will be cheaper for United to give them a few thousand to go away than to defend it.

I'm not sure what's worse, the people who come up with these asinine lawsuits or the back of the yellow pages lawyers who represent them.

The only precedent available were those from, sadly, a major air incident.

FWIW - taken the report as true, UA is obligated to compensate regardless of faults.

So the key is if the hard landing caused both women permanently disabled or not.

There's nothing about this "incident" on Avherald. Thus, I doubt it happened.

Just because it was not reported, it does not mean it never happened.

Every pilot will tell you that sometimes a hard landing is the best landing.

Any landing you walk away from is a good landing.

Any landing after which you can use the aircraft again is a great one!

I really wish United would offer these dolts a choice between two settlement offers: 1) go away, or 2) a lifetime ban from us and this list of other airlines that are also tired of people like you.

Just a quick note and I apologize for saying this, but it looks like the people perpetuating the lawsuit are Canadian. If you check out the Air Canada forum lawsuit like this seem fairly common up north. - and by fairly common happen several times per year.

I guess we should sue for the rough ride we all experience on hotel and car rental shuttles. Even my hardest landing doesn't compare.
