United.com availability issues buying both "cash" ticket & award

is there a list somewhere for what airlines are what?

for instance -
I can buy a united ticket or an ANA ticket on United.com

I can buy an AWARD ticket on EVA, China Air, Asiana etc, but i can't see where I can buy a revenue ticket

GOAL: prolly should have stated this first LOL
I am trying to get 2 tickets, one award and one revenue from AAA-BBB
I can find cubic buttloads of business saver awards on China Air and EVA Air
I can't purchase another ticket with the same iternerary

what am i doing wrong, is there a box i can check or something??

Many airlines are created plating requirements which make it difficult for UA to sell cash ticket on the other airline flights if not codeshare ( or especially for discount fares). Also, if UA is not operating any of the flights, this becomes an issue for purchased tickets vs award.

Many times under the award option there will be a option to cash purchase instead of using miles.

Since award tickets and cash tickets can not be on the same PNR, the only advantage of purchasing via UA is PQDs especially for discount economy. RDMs will be higher generally for discount economy if non-016 and PQMs will be the same.

BTW, airlines consider award tickets to be revenue tickets. "Cash" vs award or mileage is a more common differentiation.

Hmm, didn't think about it like that

I don't have enough miles to do what I want or I would book 2 award seats, but if I have to pay for one ticket I was more interested in PQM, I don't need any more PQD really. So I guess I could book it thru evaair direct.

back to google flights......
