New Polaris Ad: An Unexpected Comedy

https://www.yahoo.com/news/united-ad...200023373.html

Turns out United Airlines’s PR fiasco is still costing the brand big-time.

On Wednesday night, the airline ran an ad during the opening screening of this year’s Tribeca Film Festival, touting its business-class service to attendees at Radio City Music Hall.

Of course, it was WAY too soon.
Oops...for those here who keep poo-pooing the PR damage and insisted on real data, well here you go.

In the world of brand management....in case you're confused by this....it means "not good at all"

I think the words "way too soon" characterize much of the Polaris campaign...

The bad news may really be for the film festival - will they lose the valuable support from United?

@BBSHOPSINGER: With a sane PR department, no, United would be foolish to pull out from the festival. BUT, United keeps making so many missteps that it's beyond belief.

Coming up next: United ad featuring bunnies!

Soooo, a PR campaign & relationship forged long before the Dao incident had a less than stellar reaction at Tribeca??? I guess too soon would be an appropriate assessment, but not sure laughter is "hard data".

It's Hollywood, comedy is wherever you find it & it is fleeting. I'm sure some or many of those in attendance either got there on a UA flight, or went home on one.
