In-app credit card pitch

Opened the UA iPhone app tonight and saw this:

Pretty disappointing to see an advertisement, especially since I'm not even eligible for the offer.

At least UA has not stooped to the level of pre-merger US Airways where flight attendants would pitch the credit card in the middle of a long flight, over the loudspeaker, when many passengers are sleeping.

But they hawk the credit card as part of the safety annoucement.

I got this even though I just canceled the card last year (so not eligible for 24 months). Though I supposed it's better than when I would get the ads (on the website) when I currently held the card!

We accept all major credit cards with the Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express logo. As well as the United MilagePlus Explorer Visa.
this is what Chase gets for all that money

It's not the first time...there was a thread on this in the past, maybe about a year ago.

The good news - if you click the X on the right side of the ad, it will go away, and you won't have to worry about it.
