Gram is not a measurement of volume.

At typical ambient pressures and temperatures found in a United Club, of course.

Due to the limited level horizontal real estate in E, especially if you have your laptop out, I often ask for ONLY the can and no cup. Now this 2g difference is just another reason!

Good point. The cups should expand a little with the lower cabin pressure. Are the two plastics made of the same material? The amount they expand or contract due to pressure and temperature may differ. This test needs to be performed in-flight.
Another concern, the width of the cups are different. This will affect the configuration and amount of ice that will fit in the cup which affects the left over volume available for the actual drink. This needs to be considered as well

They look cheap. That's what I think, and it seems to be the theme I hear from others...

What order of magnitude are the changes in volume when moving to room temperature when compared to the uncertainty of the scales?

as a liquid,
roughly 0.02%/C
Liquid water changes very little with normal pressure but not sure the of the coefficient
