New Blue Plastic Cups? Smaller? {test show same volume}

Didn't see another thread on this, please merge if there is one.

I was in the SFO rotunda club and noticed the plastic cups for the soda fountain are now blue (instead of clear) and more importantly seem smaller. I then boarded a flight to IAH and the FAs were pouring drinks into the same smaller looking blue cups.

I already though the clear plastic cups where small. Maybe I just drink more than others.

Anyone else see these around?

I was shocked by how much bigger the cups were on AA flights.

And UA is making them even smaller

The coffee to-go cups in the UC clubs are small as well. I actually bring my own to-go cup since I don't want to drink fresh poo on board.

So we ask for more European like Club benefits, and we get smaller cups... this is not the change you are looking for.

No kidding... the AA cups seem almost double the size!

Hopefully this was just an anomaly as I was hoping if they introduced a new cup it would be larger to match AA.

I think the AA cups are a holdover from US Air when they only gave you a cup instead of a can. But I agree the "new" cups are huge (for an airline).

The small blue cups were used in GF on my SFO-FRA flight that departed yesterday (10May). They were not used in the GFL in SFO so this was the first time I saw them.

I just noticed the same thing today in SFO Intl United Club, and SFO-HKG in BF (pre-departure beverage). Were using the old clear cups in ORD and on ORD-SFO.

Sounds like this may be just an ex-SFO thing. Hopefully it doesn't stick.

Not sure if this is the same cup, but I was on ORD-PHL on Sunday and noticed blue cups instead of clear. I couldnt tell if there was a size difference.

You can always take two in the club. But I agree that's kind of a pain. I've never understood the small coffee mugs and small soup bowls either. It's not like people will fill the soup bowl to the brim, no matter what size you provide. The people who want more soup will throw away the plastic bowl and get another one.

My favorite UC outrage was when UA had the packaged cheese slices and they started buying a smaller version. Oh, the vile in this forum!...until many of us pointed out that you could just take 2 slices of cheese.

On most AA flights I tend to get the whole can as well. Now UA wants to give us even less?

Wow -- amazing shot of a mid-spill blue cup there!!!

Seriusly, I had those today on IAH-EWR... the old clear cups weren't really big enough. These are annoyingly small.
