Lufthansa (LH) Premium Economy accees via awards/upgrades?
Hey,
I'm looking to use mileage to redeem an award travel on Lufthansa from Frankfurt to Seattle. With the mileage used, can I choose Premium Economy seating? Mileage used will be 30k.
Also, does anyone know if the Business class seats on this route (747-400) is new?

No, you will only be able to choose Economy seats. Lufthansa has a different type of Premium Economy (it is not just extra leg room).

And yes, all of LH's seats are 'new' now (the whole fleet has lie flat in wide body J).

It's not called E+, it's Premium Economy and unfortunately, you can't even buy-up from X (UA economy award class) to PE on LH.

Upgrade with cash or UA ff miles? Upgrading awards tickets is usually not possible.
Some airline offer buy up upgrades at check-in for cash or upgrade bids. LH is listed in http://www.plusgrade.com/

And it is I think normally the case that an upgrade to Premium Economy isn't going to be possibleat all unless BOTH airlines involved (flying with/using miles from) operate that type of cabin.... and even THEN I suspect there are only a few "pairs" who make it possible..
