I have done another 6 flights since my last post, and still remain at 0% for the year.

Those are not hub-hub (except LAX-IAD, but I consider that weak hub to weak hub), some should clear for sure.

The upthread reports of clearing on "N" fares really blows my mind.

Out of ORD I have cleared on one ATL flight this year. More often than not I'm not trying to book P or A if I can do it 3-4 weeks out. the P fare for ORD>LGA (my most common route) is only $150-200 more each way than the cheapest steerage ticket generally if I am that far out.

Almost nothing of mine is hub to hub. 0% upgrades as 1K. I have been 1K for 13 years in a row, and until about 3-4 years ago I was well over 90% every year.

Haven't had anymore N fares but cleared on K, 3/4 the last 40 days.

Not a 1K myself, but I did clear EWR-MIA and the return flight on a G fare. Makes me 2/2 on flights that are CPU-able this year so far

I hadn't cleared on a LAX-IAH leg once in the past 3 years. Must have been very off peak.

Strange. Have flown lax to Iah on Fridays at least 20 Fridays a year and my CPU has been over 70%. Mostly early and mid afternoon flights

I'd usually be going that direction on Monday or Tuesday, even Wednesday, coming back to LAX from IAH Thursday or Friday.

Here are my stats for segments this year with F cabins:
Total flights: 18
RPU: 4/6 (1 equipment downgrade HNL-SFO and 1 missed SFO-LAS)
Paid F: 2
CPU: 5/10
-- Made: IAH-SAT, LAS-IAH, LAS-DEN, DEN-ICT, ICT-DEN
-- Missed: LAS-IAH x3, IAH-LAS, DEN-LAS

It feels much worse to me though. Perhaps because on my missed flights here is the status:
- LAS-IAH: 1 of 15 on H fare (0 total upgraded)
- LAS-IAH: 3 of 10 on W fare
- IAH-LAS: 4 of 25 on W fare
- DEN-LAS: 2 of 20 on V fare
- LAS-IAH: 3 of 30 on E fare
(above stats are without people I think are non-revs on the upgrade list)

While my CPUs are 50%, I am only 67% on RPUs. By approx flight time my CPUs are 8 hours vs 14 hours missed, so that makes the rate even less... Throw in the downgrade on HNL-SFO (to a middle Y seat) and miss SFO-LAS that adds another 6 hours there. So my CPU stats look like:
8 hrs / 28 hours or 28%

I'm IAH based and have had pretty good luck with CPUs this year (and last). 21 out of 28 flights (75%). This is actually lower than I thought it was. I thought I was in the 80% or low 90% range. However, I'm still pleased. The problem flight for me is the Thursday night PHX-IAH. It's a heavy commuter flight.

This might be too much info... but here are the numbers:
38 Flight Segments (As of 4/10/2016)

This has been my experience as an ORD 1K. An what surprises me is on flights I used to never miss an upgrade (ORD-TPA-ORD), it's become only upgradeable with something other than a CPU. As some have said, they are just buying cheap first tickets - that's fine but it begs the question - what is my reward for loyalty?

CPU
Can't Possibly Upgrade

I've cut back big time on frequency of travel this year and used RPUs and GPUs, but I'm at about 20% on non instrumented flights.

I had a RPU midweek from FLL-DEN not clear, on a V fare.

GPUs seem to be OK still- they don't want to play the low delta to coach on international that they play on domestic travel.

I've given up on CPUs. United has too. Check out your 2016 1K packet, CPUs are mentioned on the back in the light gray text, that is a 'sign'.

If I have to buy into F and miles aren't really worth that much, I'm going to to go rouge when GPUs stop clearing- if not before if I start booking PE for international.

I apply the same mind-set to CPUs as to my golf game. I used to get upset when I didn't 'hit' it, but I flipped it around and now I'm just amazed when I do connect. I moved to UA about 5 years ago, had a good couple of years with CPUs and now........

I usually fly non-hub - hub - non-hub mostly on RJs. 82% CPU rate this year (including 5 legs with a companion who was upgraded on my ticket).

Love the new 175s with 12 First seats - almost guarantees upgrades on my routes. All but one of my failures have been on short hops on mainline craft.
