Direct flights to Rome

Does UA have any direct flights from the USA to Rome? The route map shows a direct flight from Dulles but when I tried to book online, there was no direct flight offered.

Anytime I've flown direct to Rome, it's EWR-FCO. But I've only traveled there in summer. Could be seasonal? I remember this going back to Continental days on a DC10. It's been a couple years since I've been back, so things probably have changed.

UA offers seasonal service to FCO from EWR, IAD, and ORD. When were you trying to book the flight for? Depending on the month, the flight may not be operating.

It may be a direct flight with a stop at an intermediate point.

Don't believe the UA flight maps show direct flights -- just non-stops.

FCO is a highly seasonal market, and daily service from three hubs (ORD/IAD/EWR) is only offered during the summer. In the shoulder seasons, service may be less than daily, and there is no UAL metal service to FCO during the winter.

I suspect the OP meant non-stop. This is indeed ORD/IAD/EWR depending on the season.

The IAD-FCO service is seasonal (summer only). It ended about a week after Labor Day. I flew to Rome over Thanksgiving. I flew IAD-MUC-FCO and had no problems whatsoever. I try to avoid FRA whenever possible.

I've flown direct through IAD in February and EWR in April.

The season for the EWR-FCO nonstop is from late March until late October. There is an EWR-MXP nonstop that runs year round and Rome can be reached in about 3 hours by high-speed train from Milan. Alternatively there are many flights from the US to MUC, ZRH, BRU, VIE, and FRA on UA or *A partners with easy connections to FCO.
