3 weekly flights (just like initial SFO-CTU route)?

Summer only?

I like that United is expanding their route network. As I fly coach for business or leisure, I like to get the E+ seats at no additional charge.

"United said on Tuesday it intends to use Boeing Co's 787-8 Dreamliner for the three-times-a-week service, starting from May 10 to Oct. 29 next year."

Just go to East Village instead and save the airfare!

This will be a nice option and make it easier for tourism into the heart of China. I have good memories of Xi'an even though it was hotter than Hades in July.

An interesting choice given the current economic situation in China.

Anyone know the truth about how CTU is doing? There have been anecdotal reports in both directions.

I would have preferred BKK or BOG

Yes, I am surprised they are starting a new service to Xi'an after dumping BKK.

I can't speak directly to the tradeoff v. BKK, however a direct to Xi'an is fantastic! The current options range somewhere between painful and torturous.

The lamb burgers in NY are better. Not just saving on airfare, but actually an upgrade! Although if you compare to the dank basement in Flushing, I'd say real Xi'an is cleaner.

Doesn't UA already operate enough flights inefficiently? Seems like they can't handle their current schedule effectively.
