Weather Waiver for SFO due to high winds [Dec 30, 2014]
Was surprised to see this checking in for a flight this evening given there is no precipitation in the area. Looking at the TAF seems to be wind related.
Anyone know if this is likely to be mostly a delay issue or if we're looking at widespread cancellations as well? Flying mainline but inbound and outbound are both within the time window with the highest forecast winds.
Thanks.

Winds are out of 360 and it doesn't look like they're shifting the landing pattern - that's a full crosswind component. Think you're starting to run into problems for E120/CRJ/CR7. Mainline should be fine up until 40kts or so?

Where are you seeing 60? Forecast tops out at gusts to 40 mid afternoon.

Listening to liveatc.net and SFO is now landing on runway 1R (28L localizer approach with a circle to the south at 3 miles out to land on 1R) and that's gonna flip a few folks out driving on 101
