The Quality of the Hummus as Found in the UA Snackboxes Late 2014-?

The new hummus in the tapas boxes is awful. It was bad enough when they removed the tuna...

Is that the Wild Garden hummus? I rather like it. Just wish I had a few more pita chips to go with it ...

Oh god it was... I felt I was dealing with the consistency of cranberry sauce out of a can. And the flavor was even worse.

The old "sour cream" packet stuff was not half bad, but this new stuff is just a disaster.

Looks like low bidder "wins" again.

The old one was Wild Garden, it wasn't terrible. What brand is the new one?

THIS!!!!

My wife got the tapas box about 3 weeks ago and I couldn't believe how bad it was. Like a weird, greyish-beige gelatinous substance. Hummus is not supposed to jiggle.

Couldn't tell you the brand, but it was really, really bad.

I actually wrote to UA to say as much. They threw some miles my way - a very generous amount actually - but I really just hope they switch back ASAP.

ETA: it's not Wild Garden - I actually didn't mind Wild Garden either, but this new one comes in a peel-top container, similar to the red pepper spread I think.

It's not Wild Garden anymore.

I got the new stuff last week and it was awful. No more tapas box for me.

Oh, great. I had the hummus & pita chips off the cart twice last week and it was the wild garden variety. Now I can't even have that.

First they took my yogurt parfait. Now this!

I have to say, pretty much all commercial hummus in the U.S. is not very good. As someone coming from the Land of Hummus, I've found the American versions to be roughly equivalent to garbanzo-flavored spackle (or perhaps tile grout would be a better analogy). The choices have improved lately, with Sabra entering the U.S. market, but it's still no comparison to the original...

Kind of disappointing they can't just get some good stuff from Sabra.

oh.. but that would actually improve the quality of the experience... that's a no-no.

My problem with this was the extra stuff that doesn't belong in Hummus. But that's probably going to be true of any of this packaged crap.

Isn't that Wild Garden tube stuff the same as what they provide in the DL SkyClubs? I haven't been in one in a few months so I don't remember the brand; I remember it looks like jungle.

If you can't find a local restaurant to buy from, Trader Joe's carries hummus that is much better than Sabra.

On the change in tapas boxes, that sucks. The stuff they had in there was decent, and the tapas box was the only thing I ever really bought. The way the new stuff is being described, I don't even want to risk it.

Any thread with "quality" and "UA" in the title

can usually only be answered in on direction, which is NO, or "getting worse" or "not any more"

Perhaps they put the hummus from the First Class boxes (which is very vile BTB) into the "tapas" boxes?
