Codeshare Ticketing Delay
I booked flights yesterday on united.com with segments on LH and OS. Instead of the e-ticket confirmation I received confirmation of a "codeshare ticketing delay" saying that the reservation would be held for up to 24 hours pending confirmation from LH and OS.
So, was wondering: how long does the partner ticketing process really take? I want to request my upgrades before the R space vanishes on the UA segments.
And if R space vanishes in the meantime, does the 24 hour cancel window start counting only when UA finally tickets the ticket, or is it already running now, while UA is making me wait?
thx for any advice..

I don't see anything about ticketing in the policy
United’s 24-hour flexible booking policy
The 24-hour timeframe begins at the time your ticket is purchased.
In the DOT prohibition on post-purchase price increases (14 CFR 399.88) they define purchase as:
A purchase is deemed to have occurred when the full amount agreed upon has been paid by the consumer.
But I'm not sure if that's the definition of purchase that applies here.

IATA convention gives other carriers 72 hours to confirm space. LH and OS will do it within 24 hours. If they won't confirm the space, you won't be ticketed at a higher fare, you simply won't be ticketed.
Check back to make sure that you've been ticketed. If you haven't, you will need to find alternatves.
