Atl to Iah only one 50 seater and 6 70+ regionals daily
Atl to Den now all E 170's
new terminal T renovated with new United club (on roof) and no use of the

holy crap. we have a sizeable office in atlanta and a few customers as well, this is absolutely welcome news for me. i was so tired of those E45's.
i'm wondering why they're not using the E75's with the increased F as a draw, but whatever, i'll take what i can get.

This is such an improvement. I flew Southwest a few times to ATL for mainline, only subjecting myself to the E145s once. It will be great to see mainline on EWR-ATL. Very pleased.

So the interesting question is whether we're finally seeing a bit of drawdown of 50 seater flying, or whether they'll just be inflicted on someone else.

For all of the complaints about the lack of mainline service, I vastly prefer the 70+ seat, 2x2 "regional" jets to a 100+ seat, 3x3 Airbus or 737. The only drawback I have experienced with regional services is that they are the first on the chopping block when the weather goes Tango Uniform; other than that, I haven't had any serious problems with them over the years out of IAH and EWR.

Great news for the mainline ATL>EWR. Take this a few times per year. Wish there were more mainline ex-ORD, sadly those are going [have gone] away.

(I was looking at the October IAH-PIT schedule yesterday and saw fewer express amd more mainline on that route as well)

I daresay this might be some of the best news in a very long time for the new United.
I have flow through the ATL about four times the last six weeks-all of which have been on DL but since I don't have Sky Club I've ended up at the Presidents club. I have marveled at the 50 seaters lined up at terminal D waiting to go to UA hubs.
I just don't get why Delta flies mainline jets-and some wide bodies-to United hubs whereas United flies 50 seat regional jets to Delta hubs. I think Minneapolis only sees one mainline to Chicago and one mainline to San Francisco each day now.
Perhaps as is noted up thread the trend to retiring the 50 sat regional jets and up gauging to larger regional jets (or even mainline) is a change we may finally like.
