I use to like being able to open the app and instantly see my BPs and reservations.
Now I must swipe to see the wallet.
Also, as others have said, the seat map is zoomed in too far. Same with the reservation view in general. The layout wastes screen space.
Overall the app seems fine, I don't know how much of an improvement it is. I would prefer better performance with the same functionality than a swanky new layout that reminds me of windows 8.
I'll have to use it more to get a better feel of what actually is good and bad

Wow this is annoying. There is the button on the top right that helps a bit, and is quicker. But reverse chronological under My Reservations is insane. And having the little square button options give me Delete or Refresh instead of Expand or whatever is annoying. I have already deleted a reservation and it is not letting me add it back. Sweet.

(Amtrak probably needs to add this feature first; I've had more issues having a code scanned from its app than I've had with United's app.)

Hello Everyone,
Just noticed the new United App on my Android. Nice new slick layout.
They have shortcuts for Flight Status, Check In, Book a Flight, and Airport Maps on the home page....but no panel to view Reservations??
(You have to click on the "wallet" on the upper right hand side to view reservations.)
One thing I liked about the old app is that I have a quick view of my upcoming 4 or so reservations. I hope they'd add this functionality....(to be honest I almost never use the airport map function on the app...so they can delete that if needed)
Just my $.02

The little wallet thing is exactly what you're looking for -- it's always visible, which is the point, so that reservations are easily accessible.
The airport maps are key, and absolutely should stay. I use them frequently. I do wish they would switch to a better vendor, though.

Hello Everyone,
Agree with what others have said here.
I miss the ability to quickly glance all of my upcoming reservations and boarding passes without having to tap the wallet. 99.5% of my use of the United app is to view at my upcoming reservations, view my boarding pass, or check in.
I hope they'd add back this functionality....(to be honest I almost never use the airport map function on the app...so they can delete that if needed or at least let you customize which shortcuts you have on the home screen)

"My Reservations" is easily reachable by scrolling along the "Home" bar just underneath the United logo. It defaults to showing only Home, Boarding Passes, and Flight Status, but to the right of those options are My Reservations, United Clubs, and MileagePlus.

im slightly annoyed. the old ap was perfect. no need to update. i want my reservations on the home screen. don't like that i have to flip to it. the check-in box is useless. again, put reservations on there and have it highlighted when you can check in.

When I saw this was coming down the line I managed to steal the APK off. With the intricacies of the play store this might not be the same version for every phone/tablet (my was a Nexus 5 with KitKat), so if it doesn't work I'm sorry.

If you'd like to get back the old app you can try downloading and installing the above file. Note that this process is considered advanced, insecure, and risky (for starters, you can only trust that this random guy on FT isn't putting a virus on your phone since I have no way to prove I haven't tampered with it). I'm trying to be helpful, but I can't spend time helping you get this working and cannot be held responsible for any harm/damage caused by this.
- Read the above (bolded) disclaimer!
- Uninstall the updated United app.
- In settings, find the "Security" section (or something similar).
- Enable the "Unknown sources" option and accept the following warning.
- Download the above file to your phone and open it.
- You will be prompted with an install dialogue that looks different from (but has similar features to) the Play Store install process.
- Accept the install, if it succeeds ensure the old app is back and working. If it crashes etc. it is unlikely you'll be able to restore version 1.0. Uninstall the app before attempting to reinstall the latest version.
- Open the play store, you should see United app under the "Update Available" section. If you don't, double check the other sections.*
- Tap the app name to view the app details
- Disable autoupdate. This will either be a checkbox visible above the app description, or it will be a checkbox hidden in the menu (tap your menu button or the three vertical dots in the top right corner).
*If you do not see United listed anywhere in the Play Store after install it's OK (sometimes happens with apps installed this way). On the bright side this should mean it will not try and update; on the downside you will definitely need to manually uninstall version 1.0 if you ever want to update from the Play Store.

that's what i loved about the old ap. my reservations were right there on the home screen. i'm sure they can fix this on the updated version.
