How does upgrade work ?

New to premier status (i am silver), flying tomorrow to Guatemala city.

How does upgrade work ?

I have checked in.

For my different segments it shows i am first in the waitlist :
YOW-ORD United Business®: 6 | Booked: 5 | Checked In: 2
ORD-IAH United First®: 16 | Booked: 14 | Checked In: 2
IAH-GUA United Business®: 16 | Booked: 12 | Checked In: 0

Do i have any good chance of being upgraded on any of the segments ?

Max

once you are checked in you can see your status (e.g. #80 for 1 remaining seat) on the upgrade list online. 1-4 seats left doesn't look good for a silver.

As a Silver, in a word, no. Here's the thread you want to familiarize yourself with:

I'm assuming you're the COR,M on 1502 tomorrow night. Follow the list here: https://mobile.united.com/FlightStat...ghtNumber=1502. I wouldn't hold your breath but the IAH-GUA might happen.

The most likely upgrade would be on IAH-GUA, but with only four seats open, your chances are very low.

Note that passenger names do not appear on the visible waitlist until they check-in, so your current position as number 1 is likely to change as more passengers check-in.

thanks for your insights ;-) to be honest, i'd better be overbooked and get vouchers on future travels, i'm pretty lucky with it usually!

Probably Clear

7 open seats and only 5 people in economy plus... Looks good to me.

Hmm, depends on his fare class. Assuming he is one of the 5 in E+, the other four are Gold and above. That leaves 3 seats. So if he's one of the top three in fare class for the Silver, he is good.
