UA does not have enough gates at LAX to expand short-haul flights. O/D demands will determine the feasibility of new flights; most likely, for long-hauls.

The OP was talking about ONT, asking about a "seasonal" route between ONT and IAH.

More likely to be helpful in the future are northern extensions of the K line into Hollywood/West Hollywood, which will make LAX much more rail accessible for a large chunk of people. That project is at least in development, so I might see it in my lifetime if I'm lucky lol.

Half-hourly SNA-LAX and SAN-LAX, plus CLD-LAX as well. Happy to remember that I've flown all three, with SNA-LAX being particularly exciting because it gave a view of the L.A. basin only a private pilot would be able to see.

OK, showing my age I guess, but I still miss Shuttle which let me fly UA instead of Southwest a LOT :-). I took that LAX-SAN flight a bunch during certain work times.

More news on LAX: the terminals and gates are going to be renumbered. The new *A Terminal is still in the plan, known as Terminal 9, it will become terminal 8. The current terminal 8 will be a concourse of terminal 7 (United), which it has been for years. Delta’s terminal 2&3 will merge as will the new terminal 0, merging into terminal 1. Tom Bradley will become terminal 3. For me the good news is that the planned new *A terminal is still in the works.
