Complimentary Beer/Wine Discontinued Jan 1, 2014 for transpacific/asia flights
I don't think this has been posted yet, but word on the street is that effective January 1, 2014 complimentary beer and wine will be going away for transpacific flights and flights within Asia in Economy Class. I am guessing pricing will be similar to what United currently charges in other markets.

If true - just another straw. UA's only saving grace is E+. They better hold on to that as long as possible.

This can't be possible! I thought United was an industry leader.

And didn't Delta just announce it was serving complimentary beer/wine on TATL flights? (Or was I dreaming).
Well, if they take expired coupons, I'll be fine.
The nickel and dime airline
Hopefully my GPUs will clear

Flyer friendly! UA just wants to make sure you arrive at your destination sharp and hangover-free.

I'm getting immune to all these enhancements. Maybe that's what UA management wants.....

Another Friday and another day I'm happy to have moved my travels elsewhere. Though I am thankful to UA that I still get *G privileges on US while I wait for reciprocal benefits to begin on January 7th

Well from reading that management profile, looks like they're just trying to provide a "consistent experience"
