United + Cosmopolitan Las Vegas Promotion (Through July 2014)

https://hub.united.com/en-us/news/co...d-flights.aspx

I received this promotional box on a recent flight. They were distributed close to landing by the purser to all cabin passengers.

There is a requirement to visit the member center at the Cosmopolitan to join their Identity frequent guest program but that process was quick and not particularly invasive.

We were then able to take advantage of a 2-for-1 offer at Wicked Spoon for their buffet. With two people in your party, you could enjoy their breakfast/lunch offering and then a dinner offering another night. (Provided each person redeems their coupon).

It was a good offer and there were other cards that had easy redemption opportunities for complementary beverages.

Check it out on your next trip to Las Vegas.

Does a mainline LAX-LAS count? And is it for new members only?

It's been running for awhile (atleast when I flew in Feb/March 2013).

Are you dreaming of a trip to Las Vegas? Make it a reality: Travel on a mainline United flight from one of our domestic hubs to McCarran International Airport (LAS) and you’ll enjoy a special offering. Following a successful campaign earlier this year, we have joined with The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas once again, this time for a long-term promotion that will run through July 2014.

I don't know what the criteria is - I received this on a single ORD-LAS flight a few weeks ago, but not on multiple other flights including IAH-LAS, SFO-LAS, and other ORD-LAS.

I'm guessing they might only stock it on a LAS outbound when they're doing a direct turn.

I'm guessing it's for new members only (hence why I've never bothered asking).

I just had some guests in this past week, and they received the Cosmopolitan offer. They took advantage of the $25 free slot play and the 2 for 1 buffet, which they reported was very good.

There's a small pack of terrible tasting cheap mints in there also. They've been handing these out for nearly a year LAX-LAS to everyone!

This makes sense since the Cosmo is a Marriott property... Hopefully we'll see UA and Marriott getting more creative in enhancing their partnership (to our benefit)!

Wicked Spoon brunch buffet is incredible. Just have to make it out of bed...

I'm based in LAS and I have gotten about 4 of these packets. Almost every time from ORD-LAS and about 50% from DEN-LAS.

It's a basically just an advertisement for the Cosmopolitan's players club. The coupons are all worthless, and just a gimmick to get you to sign up.

The mints are nice though! (even if they are product of China)

There is value in the 2 for 1 buffet coupon.

Again, only if you sign up for the player's club, which typically requires a set gambling amount on a particular trip.
