Hmm, where do you see this? I do see on unitedcargo.com a truck scheduled to operate EWR-MCI on 16 August as "UA 0072T" with mode of transit "TRC" (truck, as opposed to alternate options "passenger" or "freighter"):
I did not realize that cargo trucks get a "UA flight number" with a tango at the end. That's interesting.
Typically when two aircraft are in the air at the same time and were scheduled to have the same flight number, one will get a slightly different flight designation — and very often this will happen by having an extra letter appended to the number of one of the flights. So if, like, UA1655 SFO-DEN and UA1655 LAX-BOS are in the air at the same time, you may hear "UA 1655 tango" on the radio.

Seat guru: http://www.seatguru.com/findseatmap/findseatmap.php
I was checking the seat map on Seatguru for Flight 72 from HNL to SFO. The dup # showed up there, but it didn't have a "T" after it.
Yes, it is interesting.
