Delay--Cargo Loading???

My kids and I will be taking UA 989 from IAD-FRA in a few weeks and with a train to catch a few hours after arrival I have begun to track the timing trend for the flight. The past two days the flight has been delayed for approximately an hour and a half each day and the given reason was "cargo loading". I haven't seen that before as a delay reason and was curious if others had or if this was common on certain routes or flights. I am not really worried about missing the train as we can always take the next one, just more curious about "cargo loading" delays and their frequency.

I've had one on MUC-ORD. I think one of the pallet loaders broke down and it took them a little while to get another one and continue loading. All in all it was about 1 1/2 hours as well.

Sorry to keep this going if its nothing but now it's four days out of the last seven that this flight has been delayed an hour to an hour and a half for "cargo loading" delay. Can anyone shed some light on this? Does IAD just have the worst cargo loaders in the world? Does this type of delay release UA from any responsibility in the contract of carriage(i.e. the it's sunny in both arrival and departure city weather delay)? Thanks.

Can I suggest you take a deep breath. You're going to give yourself (and your family) an anxiety attack. Your family's flights are weeks away. Four data points in the past seven days likely will have no relevance to the flight you're interested in. Suggest you come back and take a look a couple of days before departure date.

It's the new code for late arriving connecting passengers now that they are being honest about how they treat us.
