Question Is my MCO-EWR Flight Sold-Out or why doesn't it show up for purchase now?

So I'm flying from MCO-EWR on 4/12 on the 759pm flight.

When I pull up the flights on those days, none of the evening flights are available at all for purchase. The last flight that day available is at 326pm.

When I look at the seat map for my flight all 12 seats in 1st are open and 23 are open in Economy - just not selected yet maybe...

When I try the apply for an upgrade, it says "Online upgrade not available" and gives no options for Buying Up to First or Using miles/Regional.

So is my flight oversold or something else?

And with that, find alternative routings*, get to the airport early with said alternative routings in hand and volunteer

*gate agents like it if you come prepared as it makes their job easier

I'm missing something here. Why would he need an alternative routing? He is confirmed on the flight already. Are you implying he wants to VDB? Based on the OP, I thought he was looking to UG, not VDB.

Half a mis-read on my part but if my flight is oversold (u/g cleared or not), I'll look to VDB but part of my VDB negotiations is to see if I can get up front on the new flight (and as to alternative routings, you know f/t'ers, we can come up with some pretty creative routings to get to the original destination

What's the chance of the agent putting me on Delta, Jet Blue or American non-stop up to NYC area?? There is one more non-stop flight to EWR after mine and its sold out too...all the United options leavign at 5pm or after are connections, some which get me to NYC sooner than the original flight.

I cant be to airport till 430pm...FYI

thanks
