20,000+ Lifetime Miles just vanished
Went in to my MP account today and notice my lifetime balance was less by more than 20,000. I passed 1,920,000 recently and was counting on hitting 2,000,000 this year. Balance today 1,895,000.
Called MP customer service. They said it was a "glitch" and they were "aware" of it. Asked when they would fix---reply 1 - 2 weeks. Anybody else have this experience?

Thanks for posting this. It seems like we can't trust UA anymore. I have added lifetime miles to my spreadsheet that I use for tracking EQM. UA has been such as disappointment since 3/3 & things are still going wrong.

Talk about good timing!
I hit MM status Friday when miles from flights Tuesday were posted. Had about 1,001,000 miles, so got Ms Trash matched to my 1K. My account this morning shows about 988k, so looks like maybe a month's activity disappeared. Luckily, Ms Trash's 1k stuck and she got upgrade for flight on Tuesday after our reservation split on outbound check-in.
Edit - The missing miles for me are exactly 3 one-waytrips between OGG and IAH via LAX, which is my previous 4 weeks or so activity prior to a pair of flights Thursday. Maybe those with correct mileage haven't flown in that period?

Strange, as for me, I don't have any flights that would explain my decrease. All of my flights this year are shown as 500 miles, except for trips to Phoenix which are 602 miles each way. Maybe UA will join other victims and claim the Chinese govt. hacked their system...

Suggest you lighten up and reconsider before you hit "send". I have advanced doctorate degrees and know hot to add. Thanks to the other posters who came to my defense.
The bigger picture (theme), which should not be lost, is that UA has a problem, without much doubt that appears to have surfaced acutely. Further, I went back to previous "statements" in the account and, frankly, they never have updates or confirmations of what the lifetime balances are. I was surprised that that wasn't there.
So, one of the posters had good advice which I wish I had followed previously: Do a "print-screen" at periodic intervals to verify where your account is in the cosmos. Many of us were doing that during the computer changeovers when the UA and CO mileage programs were merging.
That would appear to be the only safeguard of documenting where one's lifetime mileage balance is. Probably quite important for those of us who are near 1mm an 2mm thresholds---which carry a lot of value and impact for status and other perks. Something of value to carry away from FlyerTalk.
