I'm debating the same thing, living in MSP myself. Will requal in mid/ late may. Moved back to MSP about 7 years ago and been 1k every year. I have to admit I'm finally to the point where I think I'm going to do it. Last year, I finished with 239k EQM. Sadly, benefits (GPUs specifically) slow down after 100k to 2 every 50k miles. It's like UAL wants people to go away.... 
Will do an India trip in June and will probably do DL on their metal the whole way. If I buy C fare, MSP-AMS-BOM-AMS-MSP, it is 25298MQM. That will put me over the threshold. The C fare on DL is about $6,200 versus C fares on UA/LH/LX of around $4300. I think the extra $2k is worth it. Thoughts?

I wish there was some benefit in flying more then 100K on United. Maybe I'll go for 1K, Executive Platinum and Diamond all in the same year...

Just got approved for Delta Status Match - They gave me Plat Medallion. I need to do 26000MQM in 90 days. just booked 2 domestics trips in next 10 days on delta.

Mini revolt of the high mileage fliers in MSP? I like it (and much overdue). The only downside would be not getting to talk with Carol in the United Club as often.
