Seriously, OP, assuming you really mean graphics cards, I suggest that your friend talk to the UA lost and found and LHR lost and founds to see if there are specifically Computer boards/chips, or specifically graphics cards left in the plane.
I hope he is able to find something. Those GPUs(Titan X) are certainly worth more than what we value our UA GPUs in FT, albeit some might say UA GPUs are worth as much as $3k a piece. |
UA Lost and Found- FOUND!
I flew BF on a recent flight EWR-PVG. Left my Bose Noise Cancelling headphones in the pouch near the outlet. About two days later I discovered they were missing, (I realized that I left them on the plane). Went to the lost and found site on UA.com and filled out the form without much hope. Around three days later, I received a text and email saying that my headphones were found, and for $12.95 they would send them to me.
Sure enough, the headphones arrived in perfect condition and they're coming with me on my next run EWR-PVG. Great job UA!!! |
Any idea how long they hold onto items they find? I left my Bose QC25's on a flight 4/7 and initially wrote them off as gone and bought another pair. Then I recently found out UA has a lost and found, so I submitted the form today.

iPad Mini 3 Found on UA B737-900ER - Likely from UA2008
An Apple iPad Mini 3 was found in the seatback pocket while sitting in seat 9C on UA887, YVY-SFO, on Friday, 10/27/17.
The previous flight for this aircraft was UA 2008, ORD-YVR. The iPad was turned over to a United gate agent at SFO. I can't remember if I'm allowed post names, but feel free to PM me if you need additional details. Good luck! |
Huge favor for those in United EWR, terminal C
Hello. I am in a huge jam and would like any help. I lost a camera yesterday at the Novella Restaurant at terminal C, EWR airport. Novella is in the complex of several restaurants near gate 80, and is one of the restaurants closest to the concourse. There are a few TVs there, a fire oven, and beers on tap like Blue Moon and I think Stella.
I have been trying all day to call them, but I do not have and I am unable to get their number. I am trying to see if they turned in a Nikon D500 camera to United lost baggage or The Port Authority. If anyone is in Terminal C, could you PLEASE ask them if anyone knows about a professional style camera turned in lost and post here any results. I already filled a lost item with United and Port Authority. After posting a question about lost items at EWR, someone suggested that I post the request here. If you can ask them, thanks a ton. Sam |
I left EWR at 10:30 this evening after arriving at C94 and walked by the food court complex. Not sure anything could have been done tonight (the terminal is pretty much shut down by this point, especially the food spots), but best of luck. Hopefully someone has an early-morning departure and has some spare time to check tomorrow AM.

Those that may have suggestions should follow the original thread. But as mentioned, things are probably locked up for now. WineCoiuntryUA UA coModerator |
worth it for trip to EWR to get possible lost item
I am the guy who forgot to pick up a $2,500 camera at EWR airport, terminal C on Saturday. I left it at a restaurant (Novella) near Gate 80, which is where there is a complex of other restaurants all bunched in the same area. Right now, I have heard nothing back from United. It is my understanding in Terminal C, which is controlled by United, all non-TSA area lost items are kicked to United lost and found. If I am unable to get any kind of confirmation from United about the camera, do you think it is reasonable/worth it for me to personally fly to EWR from my hometown (CLT) to try to talk to them about the item in person? According to a Port Authority Police Officer I talked to, it is virtually impossible to call them and talk to a real person.
If I am to go down this route, any suggestion on how long to give them before I head out there? I am a bit nervous since IN THEORY, they should have immediately been able to identify the camera from the myriad of items they received, as the camera is very large with the model number printed in bright yellow on the strap and should be distinguishable from a laptop or article of clothing. Any suggestion on how much time I can/should give United at EWR to contact me back? I filed a claim online. I know this is a longshot, but if anyone will be near Arrivals Baggage Claim area #6 at EWR airport in Terminal C, could you please private message me, and perhaps you could ask on my behalf so I can see if it is there? |
Looks like its a 300-350 round trip....
I don't know if it would be worth it or not. I lost a tablet on UA (with absolutely ZERO name or address on my tablet), and the UA lost and found got it and back to me. took about two weeks after sending in the lost and found claim. Too many variable here... if it was turned in, or someone on their way to Vegas scored a "free camera". Side note... kind of verboten to keep reopening threads when you have had multiple ones running and had them closed on the same topic https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/unit...erminal-c.html https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/new-...ra-newark.html |
ok, my bad with the repeat thread. Why did it take two weeks for United to get back to you though? I mean I have trouble seeing why it takes so long. Can someone enlighten me with that? I am really curious how procedurally they handle lost and found.

Consider yourself lucky if you get your camera back in two weeks. Did you have any travel insurance to cover such a loss? |
Is it worth it to pick it up? Yes
Is it worth it to fly to EWR to look for it? No, highly doubt it will still be there. If someone turned it in, you need to file a claim with UA so they know it's yours. Did you have any ID or something unique on it to verify its yours (don't share this publicly)? |
A long shot, but you can ask UA if they can fly it on one of their flights to your home airport and then pick it up there.

I was blown away because it was a typical tablet, with absolutely no indicator that I was the owner (unless you unlocked it). It was a couple years ago... so forgive me if I don't remember the exact timeline: I lost it, and not realized until I was done traveling for the day. I filed a lost and found report with UA that night... online. It was held at the local airport for a few days, then it was sent to IAH and was cataloged and waited for some intervention. I got a call at about the 10 day mark... the lost and found guy used his own cord to power up the tablet (Battery was DOA), he told me I was his 15th call on that tablet, I gave him the unlock code, and *poof*... he said "Its yours!". I was only on the hook for the $10.00 to have it shipped to me. |
No unique identifiers on the camera itself (such as my name) but the camera is very large, I know the serial number to it, and the model type was printed in yellow by the factory on the Nikon strap. It is not a ubiquitous thing like a compact camera or an ipad which all look the same.
I did finally get a call from the restaurant and so far they did not see it in their lost and found, but it could have went to a different location within the restaurant or given to a security guard or someone else. The person who called me said they will review security footage, as I was able to tell them exactly where I was and about what time I left...so, that is helpful. I am hoping that nobody stole it. Hopefully by the end of today, she will be able to reach out to the bartender who served me. I did ask UA that night if someone could simply pick it up from the restaurant and fly it into my hometown the next day. I though that would by far be the easiest way to accomplish what needed to be done, but they claimed it couldn't be done. I am kind of curious that if someone did steal it, who would be more likely to absconded with it...an employee of the restaurant or a traveler? Regardless of whether I find it or not, a valuable lesson about backing up my images was learned. I have no personal property insurance for the camera, but will check if the credit card I used for it has some kind of insurance. |
